The Philosophers’ Yard Code of Conduct
The Philosophers’ Yard is founded on the values of curiosity, creativity, and community. We acknowledge that for these values to flourish, we must create an environment that welcomes diversity of thought, facilitates honest conversation, and protects members from discrimination and violent language, behaviour, or actions.
Therefore, we kindly require that participants in The Philosophers’ Yard agree and adhere to our code of conduct.

Participation in the activities of The Philosophers’ Yard is open to anyone who agrees to this code of conduct. As outlined and protected by law through the Equality Act 2010, we uphold our responsibility to protect vulnerable groups and participation will not be refused for any of the following reasons: race, religion or creed, sex, sexual orientation, ethnic or national origin, political opinion, gender (including gender reassignment), age, marital status, pregnancy, or disability.
The trustees shall ensure that activities are pursued in the best interests of participants. All participants have a collective responsibility for promoting an environment that is aligned with the values of The Philosophers’ Yard.
Contraventions of this code of conduct should be reported to a trustee. Trustees retain the right to admonish or expel participants or contributors in a manner that is proportionate to the offence.
